Lucknow -City of Nawabs


Lucknow is the Capital of Uttar Pradesh also known as a “City of Nawabs”. The historical name for this city is “Awadh Nagri” located on the bank of Gomti River. The city is growing as a developing region in North India.  Lucknow is mostly famous for its urbane mannerisms and culture which is widely famous in its different ways.

People of Lucknow
People of Lucknow are heartfelt, polite and well-mannered. They welcome their guest as a God and speak very softly in the tone of their traditional or ancient manners, with this reason the natives are also known as “Nawabs” which reflects their Higher Standard Of living. The common spoken language of the city is ‘Urdu’ followed by the Tehjeeb of “Pehle Aap”.

Tourism of Lucknow
There are many tourism sectors in Lucknow like  Alambagh, Begum Hazrat Mahal Park, Ambedakar Park, Anandi Water Park, Malls, Hazrat Ganj, Rumi Darwaza, Moti Mahal, Clock Tower and British Residency  where thousands of visitors comes to see the beauty and culture of Lucknow. Tourist visiting Lucknow cannot move without shopping here. Various shopping destinations in the city are Aminabad, Chowk, Janpath Market, Kapoorthala, Bhootnath Market etc.    

Transportation in Lucknow
There are several ways of transportation in the City of Nawabs. Rickshaws, Tempoo, Auto and CNG Buses are the local transport of this city.  The city bus services are operated from different bus stations conducted under Lucknow Mahanagar Parivahan Sewa.
