The words like “Subah” and “sham” are very popular from the point of view of an Indian poet. We have seen the most frequent use of these two words in typical Indian Urdu Shayaries. The words in English are actually two phases of a day i.e. “Morning” and “Evening” respectively. The beauty of both Subah and sham has been depicted attractively by our renowned Urdu poets.

At one part, Uttar Pradesh’s one of the most holy city is Varanasi which is famous for its early morning or say “Subah” glory on the ghats. And on the other hand, the charm of historical city Lucknow cannot be ignored. The city is most known for its Evening or can say charm of its “Shaam”. The scenic beauty of Lucknow is mesmerizing after when the sun is hided from its presence. The wonderful silhouette is thus named as “Shaam-e- Awadh”.

Our city Lucknow is popular with this above name given to it. During the reign of Nawabs, The city was known as Awadh. The name is connected with this place from the days when Faizabad used to the state’s former capital. Even today, the evenings of Lucknow are considered most unique feelings to experience and watch. The biggest attraction of such views are those buildings that are situated on the bank of River Gomti. Most of these historical buildings were built during the time of Nawabs. Areas near the Gomti River are visited by couples, youngsters, Families or friends. One can view the architectural beauty of the city by taking a trip in the river in the evening. It is said that Nawabs used to take a view of the Gomti in the the evening. This as the main reason Shaam-e-Awadh is so romantic for its visitors.
